We’re proud of our National Honor Society (NHS) members for volunteering at Open Arms of Minnesota earlier this month! Open Arms of Minnesota is a local nonprofit that prepares and delivers medically appropriate meals for critically ill Minnesotans.
During their busy two-hour shift, twelve NHS volunteers packed over 400 meals, bagged 240 protein packs, and chopped over 120 pounds of vegetables! Thank you, NHS students, for being great ambassadors of ERA and the CIPHER pillars. #GoGryphons

Governor Walz has proposed significant cuts to chartered public schools, including reductions in special education funding. If passed, this could result in a loss of $300,000-$500,000 per year for Eagle Ridge Academy.
While this is a proposal, we must act now to make our voices heard and we need your help.
We have created a document outlining specific actions you can take, along with templates to make it quick and easy. Please take 5 minutes to check your email to review the document and complete these actions.

For the third year in a row, Eagle Ridge Academy fifth grader Itisha Budamagunta has won the Words in Action contest organized by the City of Eden Prairie in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Her entry was chosen as the winner in her age group and she was invited to share her work with the Eden Prairie Mayor and City Council Members on February 18. The Council meeting was broadcast through EPTV and livestreamed onto the Eden Prairie City Government Facebook page. Itisha's artwork, artist statement, and more information about the contest can be found on the City Government’s website: https://www.edenprairie.org/city-government/commissions/human-rights-and-diversity-commission/black-history-month-words-in-action-contest/words-in-action-contest-award-recipients.
In her artist statement, Itisha wrote: "My artwork depicts how children can participate in breaking the chain of pain and hurt and create a bond of togetherness. When someone hurts another person’s feelings, they may feel like putting that hurt on somebody else who is different from them. That chain will keep continuing, ending up with several broken hearts, including the ones who hurt others. As Mahatma Gandhi said, 'An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind'. But, if we all try to understand each other and accept our differences, we could be a stronger and harmonious world. Together, children could lead the way to overlook differences and spread kindness!"
Eagle Ridge Academy is proud of Itisha for her accomplishments and for embodying the pillars of the Academy. #GoGryphons

In February, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced that Eagle Ridge Academy senior Theodore Hance has been named a National Merit Finalist!
Students competed against over one million juniors across the country for the chance to qualify for a semifinalist position in the fall. These students were among the highest-scoring participants in Minnesota on the PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). These scores, along with their academic record, extracurricular activities, community services, leadership abilities, and awards received during their high school years, are all factored into the selection process. Theo is now competing against 15,000 other students to be awarded a National Merit Scholarship this spring.
Eagle Ridge Academy is extremely proud of Theo for all he has accomplished at the Academy since enrolling in second grade. If you see Theo at school or a community event this spring, wish him luck in the next step in the scholarship process! National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced between April and July. #GoGryphons
