The Eagle Eye: 9/26/2024

Happy Thursday! The latest issue of the Eagle Eye newsletter is now available. The Eagle Eye is Eagle Ridge Academy’s translatable community newsletter that is published every other Thursday during the school year. It is a great resource to see important updates and learn what is happening around the school. Here’s a preview of what you’ll find in this week’s newsletter:

  • Homecoming Week Information. September 30-October 4 is Homecoming Week at Eagle Ridge Academy! All students and staff are invited to dress up each day according to different themes chosen by Student Senate. All families are invited to the Invitational Cross Country Home Meet on Wednesday, October 2, School of Rhetoric students are invited to the disco-inspired Homecoming dance Friday Night Fever! on Friday, October 4, and grades K-5 students and families are invited to Rockin’ the Ridge School Carnival on Saturday, October 5. Parent volunteers are needed to help run the cross country meet, set up and chaperone the dance, and run games at Rockin’ the Ridge.   • Congratulations, September Pillar Award Winners. The Schools of Logic & Rhetoric hold monthly Pillar Assemblies in which six students from each grade level in the Schools of Logic and Rhetoric are recognized for displaying CIPHER throughout the month. Each student is nominated for a Pillar Award by one of their teachers, who writes a short paragraph describing how the student exemplified their pillar, which is shared with the student body.   • Counterpoint by Executive Director Jason Ulbrich Published in the Star Tribune this Week. Executive Director Jason Ulbrich, along with the Executive Directors of two other charter schools, sent in a counterpoint to the Star Tribune after the article “Most Minnesota charter schools are failing to make good on their promises” was published on September 15. Read the Eagle Ridge Academy counterpoint, which was published on Tuesday, September 24, inside the issue.
  • Pack the Stands for Gryphon Senior Night on Wednesday, October 9. Everyone is invited to ERA on Wednesday, October 9, to pack the stands for Fall Senior Night! Three volleyball matches will be played, with a recognition ceremony for all fall athletes and activities participants prior to the varsity match. Admission is FREE for ERA families at this event!
