The Eagle Eye: 9/12/2024

Happy Thursday! The latest issue of the Eagle Eye newsletter is now available. The Eagle Eye is Eagle Ridge Academy’s translatable community newsletter that is published every other Thursday during the school year. It is a great resource to see important updates and learn what is happening around the school. Here’s a preview of what you’ll find in this week’s newsletter:

  • Congratulations to 2024 National Merit Scholar Theodore Hance and CLT10 Distinguished Scholar Matthew Mou. School of Rhetoric students Theodore Hance and Matthew Mou have both been recognized this week for their academic achievements. Theodore Hance has been named a 2024 National Merit Scholar Semifinalist and is now competing against 16,000 other students for a chance to be awarded the National Merit Scholarship this spring. Matthew Mou has been named a CLT10 Distinguished Scholar for his performance on the college preparatory exam the CLT10. Learn more about these achievements inside the issue.

  • Gryphon Groups with School of Grammar Counselor Ms. King Starting Soon. This year, School of Grammar Counselor Ms. Emma King will once again be offering small group counseling, which we call Gryphon Groups. Gryphon Groups are a safe space for students to learn and practice skills for success and deal with challenging situations and feelings. See which Gryphon Groups will be offered and learn how to get your School of Grammar student into a group inside the issue.
  • Classical Coffee & Tea Parent Hour Friday, October 4. As we look to connect as a community in meaningful ways, we are once again looking forward to offering a parent coffee hour. Join Classical Coordinator/Classical Enrichment Teacher Suzannah Toso for a Classical Coffee & Tea Parent Hour – an informal gathering where parents can connect with one another while also learning a bit about what we do throughout the day. This is a great way to meet other parents and discuss elements of Classical Education that are helping to enrich your child. Find out more and sign up inside the issue.

Read on for more and have a wonderful rest of your week, Gryphons!
