The Eagle Eye: 5/13/2021

The latest issue of the Eagle Eye newsletter is ready to read! This year, the Eagle Eye is being published on Smore, a platform that allows newsletters to be translated into any language on Google Translate. We are hoping this allows important school information to be shared with even more of our families.

Here’s a preview of what you’ll find inside the newest issue:

  • Schools of Logic & Rhetoric Final Exam Schedule Now Available. As a reminder, the last day of school for all students K-12 is Wednesday, June 2. Final exams will be held May 25-27. Please see inside the issue for the full schedule.
  • Come See Spring Theater Production  Philaster this Weekend! Considered the first tragicomedy, Philaster was written by Beaumont and Fletcher in 1608. Director Mr. Berg describes the themes of the play as “love, politics, and fun wordplay.” The play will be performed outside by the basketball court at 6:00 p.m. on May 15 and 2:00 p.m. on May 16. Tickets will be $10.
  • School of Grammar Music Performances Will be Held Over Zoom May 24-27. The class performances will take place during specific music class times and will last twenty minutes. Due to the limited amount of guests we can have join on Zoom, each student performing is allowed two additional devices to be logged in to view the performance. Dates and times of each performance are listed inside of the issue.
  • Register Now for Summer Gryphon Youth Sports and Summer Varsity Clinics. We will be running Youth Soccer, Volleyball, and Basketball Skills Camps this June and July for students entering grades 1-7. Additionally, we will be running Summer Varsity Girls and Boy Basketball and Girls Volleyball Clinics for students entering grades 7-12. Register here.
  • Over 1,500 Pounds of Food Donated During April’s “Donate for Donuts” Food Drive! Thank you to all of our students and families that participated in the Donate for Donuts food drive. Ms. Wagner’s sixth grade homeroom won the donut prize, mainly due to the efforts of sixth grader Sydney S., who took it upon herself to call several local grocery stores and ask personally for donations. This led to her collecting over 1,000 food items! Read more from Sydney S. and sophomore Kirsten T., the organizer of the drive, inside the issue.

Read on for more, and have a wonderful rest of the week!
