The Eagle Eye: 12/9/2021
The last Eagle Eye newsletter of 2021 is now available. The Eagle Eye is Eagle Ridge Academy’s community newsletter that is published every other Thursday during the school year. It is a great resource to see important updates and learn what is happening around the school. Please click here to read the newsletter.
Here’s a preview of what you’ll find inside this issue:
- Join Us for a Gryphon Conversation on Wednesday, December 15, to Discuss the Removal of Latin Instruction for Grades K-2. The Curriculum Instruction Student Achievement (CISA) group will be hosting a Gryphon Conversation to discuss the recommendation by the Latin department to remove Latin instruction for grades K-2. The purpose of the change is to increase the instructional minutes of 6th grade Latin to better align with the recommended pacing provided by the Latin Cambridge curriculum, as well as provide students with integrated Latin and grammar instruction.
- Support Eagle Ridge Academy Activities. There are many ways to support Eagle Ridge Academy activities this winter! The ERA Booster Club is currently searching for Mock Trial coaches, volunteers at the Girls and Boys basketball games, Team Coordinators for Debate Team and Robotics, and Booster Club Board members. The ERA Booster Club also invites you to their Pack the Stands event on January 6 to celebrate our 2021 Mock Trial and Robotics State Champions.
- Eagle Ridge Academy PTO Needs Your Help Next Week. The PTO is requesting volunteers for their traditional Festival of Treats event and the School of Grammar winter parties.
- Read the Year End Appeal Letter from ERA Board of Directors Member and Parent David Croson. Through the generosity of those who supported us with a gift for the Gala and Give to the Max, we raised more than $50,000 this year to support our Grow Your Own Teacher Program, our ongoing scholarship program, and an upright piano for the auditorium. It’s not too late to consider a year-end gift to Friends of Eagle Ridge Academy (FERA). Every donation matters to the students, faculty, and staff of Eagle Ridge Academy, no matter the size!
Thank you for staying updated by reading the Eagle Eye newsletter in 2021. The Eagle Eye will return on Thursday, January 13.
