Veterans Day Celebration is Friday, Nov. 9
I am excited to announce the schedule for our annual Veterans Day Celebration. Part of the Eagle Ridge Academy vision statement is for our students to appreciate the United States of America and her unique role in the world. We want our students to understand what it means to be a Veteran and to honor the selfless sacrifice that so many men and women have made for our freedoms. The celebration includes a musical performance from our students, a flag ceremony, recognition of Veterans in attendance, and speeches given in honor of the occasion.
See the assembly time for each grade level below:
- Grades 2-3: 8:15-8:40
- Grades 4-5: 8:50-9:15
- Grades 6-8: 9:25-9:50
- Grades 9-12: 10:00-10:25
Please note that Kindergarten and first grade will not take part in the assemblies this year. They will participate in other activities to honor veterans in their classrooms.
Be Involved in the Celebration!
Grades 2-5 | Recitation of the Gettysburg Address
Students in Gr. 2-5 are invited to memorize the Gettysburg Address to recite at the Veterans Day Celebrations. If interested, email Mary Cornelius by Tuesday, Oct. 16. Auditions will be scheduled after Fall Break.
Grades 6-12 | Introduce Us to a Veteran
Students in Gr. 6-12 are invited to introduce us to a veteran they know—a grandparent, parent, sibling, or other! We invite creativity in your introduction. You could write a story, conduct an interview, or come up with your own unique way to share. If you’re interested, email Mary Cornelius by Tuesday, Oct. 16 to share your idea and get started!
