Battle of the Coins is a school-wide coin drive competition running from February 10–14 to raise funds for Staff Appreciation Week. Students in K-12 will compete by grade level, with collection stations at designated locations. The winning grades will receive donut balls from YoYo Donuts and the top School of Grammar grade will also earn golden pencils.

How it Works:

  • School of Grammar students are divided into grade-level teams. Each grade will be assigned a collection jar.
  • PTO Members will be in designated locations with jars each morning before school from 7:30-7:55 a.m. to collect coins. No coins will be collected in the classrooms or after 7:55 a.m.
  • Pennies and paper bills are positive points. All silver currency are negative points, so make sure students place those in an opposing team’s jar!
  • The money in each grade-level jar will be counted daily and the points tallied. Point standings will be announced at the beginning of the next school day and posted to the PTO Facebook page.
  • School of Logic and Rhetoric student’s can bring in coins/bills to help K-4.
  • The winning grades will receive donut balls from YoYo Donuts and the top School of Grammar grade will also earn golden pencils.
Don’t have any coins? Donate virtually through the PTO’s Venmo! Just make sure to indicate which grade you’re donating for. THANK YOU!
